This spring, Hayley participated in the 2020 National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship Program competition, and we are proud to announce that she was awarded an honorable mention!  The competition involved Hayley's work related to proposing the investigation of strong correlation using i-FCIQMC-in-DFT embedding in transition metal atoms physisorbed on graphene, exploring potential energy curves, binding energies and partitioning schemes. This is related to the group’s work on developing methods to treat systems with strong correlation present and developing models of catalysts. Congrats Hayley!
